Sheigh Niyonkuru Idrissa Mukhtar, Gabiro 1 masjid Burundi

Sheig Niyonkuru Idrissa Mukhtar was born in Cibitoke Rugombo, Burundi, in 1998. He is currently still studying Islam and is an Imam and teacher in the Madrassah. He started doing propagation in Gabiro 1, a very poor area some ways off from the city. Gabiro 1 is a non-Islamic city but now has 46 families that have embraced Islam as well as 38 children in the Madrassah.

The masjid was built with the assistance of Saudi funding in 2013, but was ill-managed and not taken care of. It was a very difficult time for him as Islam was still new to this village and the locals simply allowed their livestock to run amok in the masjid.

He was personally not from the area but made continuous trips to Gabiro 1 for propagation, and did not have a place there so he would travel there then back home to Rugombo. But now with the help of the Sheihk Hazim Abu Ghazalah Ghaffithallah, more people are embracing Islam and he is ever grateful.
